The History of Dance Education

Bulletin Board

I found this bulletin board in Room 205 of McKay Education Building. The title says: Help Pooh Find the Eggs. I found this bulletin board when I had night class around Easter time. I looked at it and was immediately drawn to it. The title is written with mixed letters and is a good size so it is easy to read. The colors on this board would normally break the three-color rule, but in this case I really think it works. Each character is made from a towel. And the colors make the picture because the creator used the real life colors of these characters. The bunnies at the bottom were a stuffed animal cut in half, and tree was made from tissue paper, they hot glue each plastic egg around the border, ad the flowers were fake. I think this bulletin board was outstanding. They had hidden eggs in there too; behing the animals or in the tree. I think it would be great for elementary children because it would draw their attention instantly and it is a fun way to celebrate Easter.

Bulletin Board

I saw this bulletin board in Spotts. The use of mixed casing is good. However, where it says "meet the faculty" could have also been mixed case. The concept of making the letters that say "building from the ground up" to increase in size is a neat idea to get their point across. They used a double lettering for the words "professional studies" to make them stand out. The size of the lettering is good. This bulletin board was in a hallway which was not wide at all. The bulletin board was easy to read when standing against the other wall. However, two of the names listed are in a different font size, I would have made them all the same size. To me they could have chosen better colors. The background color is kind of "blah." I would have used a brighter color. My only other criticism is that they should have either used all cartoon photos of the faculty or all real photos of the faculty. Some faculty photo's are real and the others are from the computer. Overall the bulletin board is organized and informative.
