Bulletin Board

The bulletin board is from an elementary school in Indiana, PA. The letting is in all upper case letters but I feel that it is fine since it is a title for the board. They are large enough to read from a distance. The teacher definately followed the rule of 1/4 inch high every eight feet away. There is one main idea with the tree. At the bottom their are folders that have different colored leaves in them to match the folders. The folders are labeled "responsibility, honesty, loyalty, courage, love, justice, and respect". The students write their name on a leaf when they display an act of character. The color is appropriate when it comes the the tree being brown. The teacher did not follow the only three color rule but I think that it is ok in this situation since there is a strong point to having different colored leaves. The spacing is also great on this bulletin board. The writing of the students' names on the leaves is clear and ledigible and in mixed case. I like the fact that the bulletin board is somewhat interactive. The students add to it which I am sure they enjoy. Overall, I feel that the bulletin board is a great display.

I think this is a great bulletin board because it is used to display the traits of the students. The students must love to look up at that bulletin board and see their name on a leaf knowing they did something good. I do not think the 3 color rule should apply. The folders need to be different colors because of the different words they distinguish. I really like the idea of this bulletin board.
